Karl Glusman (born January 3, 1988, in The Bronx, New York) is an American actor who first rose to international prominence starring in Gaspar Noé’s controversial erotic drama Love (2015) . Raised in Portland, Oregon from six months old, he began his artistic journey at Lake Oswego High School, later briefly attending Portland State University before dropping out to pursue acting at William Esper Studio in New York. His breakout came after filming an Adidas commercial that funded a trip to France—there, director Noé cast him in Love, which premiered at Cannes to sold-out audiences . He continued collaborating with high-profile directors, appearing in Tom Ford’s Nocturnal Animals and Nicolas Winding Refn’s The Neon Demon, both released in 2016. In 2020, Glusman starred alongside Tom Hanks in the WW2 drama Greyhound. In television, he’s notable for his performance as Sergei in FX’s critically acclaimed series Devs. His career continues with roles in Civil War, The Bikeriders, Reptile, and the 2025 erotic thriller Pretty Thing, in which he stars opposite Alicia Silverstone. Of German-Jewish and Irish-Catholic heritage, Glusman was married to actress Zoë Kravitz from June 2019 until their divorce was finalized in August 2021.
