Katy Mixon
Katy Mixon is an American actress known for her comedic timing and versatile performances in both television and film. Born on March 30, 1981, in Pensacola, Florida, she was one of seven children in a musically inclined family. She pursued her passion for the arts at the Alabama School of Fine Arts and later earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Carnegie Mellon School of Drama. Mixon’s professional career began in 2001 with Shakespearean theater, but she quickly transitioned to the screen after moving to Los Angeles in 2003. She gained initial recognition for her supporting roles in films like The Quiet (2005) and Four Christmases (2008), which eventually led to her breakout role as April Buchanon in the HBO cult-classic comedy series Eastbound & Down (2009–2013). Her television career reached new heights when she was cast as the dim-witted but lovable Victoria Flynn on the CBS sitcom Mike & Molly (2010–2016), where she starred alongside Melissa McCarthy. Following the success of that series, Mixon landed her first leading role as Katie Otto in the ABC comedy American Housewife (2016–2021). Her performance as a confident, unapologetic mother navigating a wealthy Connecticut suburb earned her critical praise and established her as a prominent comedic lead. Outside of sitcoms, Mixon has demonstrated her range in dramatic films such as the critically acclaimed Hell or High Water (2016) and the psychological thriller Take Shelter (2011). She has also provided voice talent for animated projects, most notably as Tina Nelson in the 2015 film Minions. In more recent years, Mixon has expanded into prestige television and biographical dramas. In 2022, she appeared as Betsy Faria in the NBC true-crime miniseries The Thing About Pam and played Jan Smith in the musical drama George & Tammy. As of late 2025, she remains a familiar face in the industry, recently appearing in the holiday comedy Hot Frosty (2024). Personally, she has been married to former Olympic track and field athlete Breaux Greer since 2016, and the couple has two children, Kingston and Elektra.
