Laila Berzins

Laila Berzins (born October 4, 1983) is a highly versatile American voice actress, singer, and comedian known as a "vocal chameleon" for her expansive range that spans from young children and deep-voiced villains to realistic animal sounds. Born in West Hartford, Connecticut, she developed a passion for performance at a young age, inspired by legends like Robin Williams. After earning a degree in Communications from the University of Connecticut and honing her skills in improv and theater, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue voice acting full-time. She rose to prominence in the gaming and animation worlds, most notably voicing the stoic adeptus Xiao in Genshin Impact, the dual roles of Demeter and Persephone in the award-winning game Hades, and the English voice of Toad in the Mario Kart franchise starting in 2025. In the Chickenhare film series, Berzins voices Meg, a martial arts expert striped skunk who serves as the tough, pragmatic guide and heartbeat of the adventuring trio. Her performance in the 2025 sequel, Chickenhare and the Secret of the Groundhog, showcases her ability to balance action-heavy intensity with comedic timing as her character navigates the mystery of the Harechickens' extinction. Her extensive filmography also includes Sadie Croaker in Disney’s Amphibia, Nora Césaire in Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir, and Sofia Falcone in Batman: The Long Halloween.
