Laz Alonso
Lazaro "Laz" Alonso is an American actor born on March 25, 1974, in Washington, D.C. A graduate of Howard University with a BBA in marketing, he initially pursued a career as an investment banker at Merrill Lynch on Wall Street before transitioning to entertainment. Alonso began by hosting television shows and appearing in music videos, notably Toni Braxton's "Hit the Freeway" and Aaliyah's "Miss You," and gained early recognition for his role in Budweiser's "Wassup" ad campaign, for which he won an Emmy. His acting career took off with supporting roles in films like "Jarhead" (2005), "Stomp the Yard" (2007), and "This Christmas" (2007). He became widely known for playing the main antagonist Fenix Calderon in "Fast & Furious" (2009) and the Na'vi warrior Tsu'tey in James Cameron's blockbuster "Avatar" (2009). Alonso has since appeared in various television series, including lead roles in "Breakout Kings," "Deception," and "The Mysteries of Laura," and is a prominent cast member in the hit Amazon Prime Video series "The Boys" as Marvin T. "Mother's Milk" Milk. His recent projects include "Wrath of Man" (2021) and the animated series "My Dad the Bounty Hunter" (2023).
