Lisa Palfrey is a Welsh actress, born on February 9, 1967, in Wales, United Kingdom. She is known for her work across film, television, and theatre, beginning her career in 1987. She attended Ysgol Gyfun Rhydfelen, a Welsh-medium secondary school near Pontypridd, and her mother, Eiry Palfrey, is also an actress and author. Palfrey has appeared in numerous notable films, including playing Gwenny in House of America (1997), Mrs. Nice in Guest House Paradiso (1999), and Maureen in the Golden Globe-nominated feature film Pride (2014). Her television work is extensive, featuring the role of Cynthia in the Netflix original series Sex Education (S1-S3), government minister Eleanor James in the Sky One series COBRA (S1-S3), and Inspector Tracey McAndrew in the third series of the police procedural Line of Duty. She has also appeared in The District Nurse, Casualty, and Vera. Connecting her to the prior context, she played the role of Sister Euphemia in the 2022 horror film Prey for the Devil. In theatre, she played Big Mama in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof in the West End and was in the original production of David Eldridge's Festen.
