Lynette Howell Taylor

Lynette Howell Taylor is a producer, born on the Wirral and a graduate of the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts. She has produced over 25 films in the last two decades and currently resides in Los Angeles with her husband, Graham Taylor, and their two children. In August 2025, she was elected as the President of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, becoming the fifth woman to hold the post. An Academy member since 2014, she is serving her first term as president and is in her second term as a governor representing the Producers Branch. She previously served for three years as Vice President and chair of the Awards Committee. Howell Taylor was co-nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture for producing A Star Is Born (2018), which received eight Oscar nominations. She also co-produced the 92nd Academy Awards ceremony in 2020, for which she earned an Emmy nomination. Her notable film credits as a producer include Half Nelson (2006), Blue Valentine (2010), The Place Beyond the Pines (2012), Big Eyes (2014), Captain Fantastic (2016), and The Accountant (2016), as well as the upcoming feature Roofman. She is the founder of the production company 51 Entertainment, which she launched in 2017.
