Maite Urrutia

Maite Urrutia is an actress, director, and writer whose career spans theatre, film, and television, with experience in both Spanish and Mexican productions. Her theatre work includes roles in productions such as The Marriage of Figaro, Bullets Over Broadway, Fear and Misery of the Third Reich, and The Tempest with the Basque Company of Theatre and Dance. She made her film debut in Underground (ASD Alma sin dueño). Following collaborations on international projects like the Chinese-Spanish production A Death Foretold and the American film False Colors, Urrutia relocated to Mexico to focus on theatre, notably starring in the critically acclaimed collective creation When everyone thought we had disappeared, which toured extensively across Spain and Latin America. In her recent filmography, she is credited in the 2024 film Corina as "Rene Joven," as well as other movies like I Faust and The Perfect Absent.
