Marat Basharov
Marat Basharov is a Russian film and television actor and TV host, of Volga Tatar origin. Born on August 22, 1974, in Moscow, he initially studied law at Moscow State University before pursuing an acting career at the M.S. Schepkin Higher Theatre School. He began his professional life in theatre, and has since gone on to appear in numerous Russian films and television series, with a career spanning since 1994. Some of his notable film credits include The Wedding (2000), which was entered into the Cannes Film Festival, The Barber of Siberia (1998), and Voroshilov Sharpshooter (1999). He has also worked as a popular television host. Basharov is a recipient of the Honored Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan and the State Prize of the Russian Federation. In the 2024 film The Master and Margarita, he played the role of Stepan Likhodeyev, the director of the Variety Theatre.
