Mariana Chaud
Mariana Chaud is an Argentine director, playwright, actress, and screenwriter, born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1977. She has established a career in both the independent ("off") circuit and official theater, with her work often noted for a singular handling of time and humor. Chaud has written and directed numerous stage productions, including Sigo mintiendo, elhecho, Budín inglés, Los sueños de Cohanaco, Isósceles, and En la huerta. She also wrote and acted in the miniseries Jostel. As an actress, she has worked with notable directors such as Javier Daulte, Luciano Suardi, Lola Arias, Mariano Pensotti, and José María Muscari in various plays. In cinema, she is known for her acting roles in films like The Delinquents (2023), High Tide (2020), Again Once Again (2019), and Extraordinary Stories (2008). Her performance in The Delinquents earned her a Sur Award nomination for Best New Actress in 2024. Chaud has also served as an artist in residence at the Complejo Teatral Buenos Aires, which included a retrospective of her body of work.
