Marissa Bode is an American actress born on August 28, 2000, in Mazomanie, Wisconsin, and is best known for her breakthrough role in the Wicked film adaptations. She trained at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy and currently resides in Los Angeles. Bode began acting in local stage productions at the age of eight. Following a car crash at age 11 that resulted in her becoming paralyzed and using a wheelchair for mobility, she continued to pursue acting. She made history in her feature film debut by being the first disabled actress to portray Nessarose Thropp, Elphaba's sister, in the two-part musical film adaptation, Wicked (2024) and Wicked: For Good (2025). Her casting has been highlighted as a milestone for authentic disability representation in Hollywood, with the film's set designed with accessibility in mind. For her performance, she received several nominations, including a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture. In addition to her acting work, Bode wrote, directed, and produced the short film You're Adorable in 2021 and has been an ambassador for Saving Our Daughters.
