Martin Herlihy is an American actor, writer, and comedian best known as one-third of the sketch comedy group "Please Don't Destroy" alongside Ben Marshall and John Higgins. Born on September 13, 1998, in Ridgefield, Connecticut, he is the son of Tim Herlihy, a former Saturday Night Live writer and longtime collaborator with Adam Sandler. Martin Herlihy attended New York University, where the trio formed their comedy group, which gained popularity on social media for its absurdist humor.In 2021, Herlihy and the rest of "Please Don't Destroy" were hired as writers for Saturday Night Live, where they became a fixture by producing short, often self-contained, prerecorded digital videos. For his writing work on the show, he has been a multiple-time nominee for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series. Beyond SNL, he co-wrote and starred in the 2023 comedy film Please Don't Destroy: The Treasure of Foggy Mountain and has also appeared in the film Hubie Halloween. While his colleagues from "Please Don't Destroy" have pursued other roles, Herlihy has continued his career as a writer for Saturday Night Live.
