Matilda De Angelis, born on September 11, 1995, in Bologna, Emilia-Romagna, Italy, is an accomplished Italian actress and singer. Her artistic journey began early, as she started playing guitar and violin at the age of thirteen. She attended the liceo scientifico "Enrico Fermi" in Bologna. In 2011, she joined the band Rumba de Bodas as a singer, and they released an album titled "Karnaval Fou" in 2014.De Angelis's acting career took an unexpected turn when she was discovered by director Matteo Rovere through pictures on Facebook. Rovere cast her in the lead role of his 2016 film, Italian Race (Veloce come il vento), for which she received a David di Donatello nomination for Best Actress. She also contributed to the film's soundtrack, writing and singing the song "Seventeen," which earned a Best Original Song nomination. Her debut performance also garnered her a Flaiano Prize and a Nastro d'argento for Best Newcomer.Since then, De Angelis has built a notable filmography, including roles in A Family (2017), The Prize (2017), Youtopia (2018), and Reckless (2018).
