Michael Irby is a highly regarded American actor known for his versatile and impactful performances across both film and television. Born on November 16, 1972, in Palm Springs, California, Irby is of mixed Mexican-American and African-American heritage. Before pursuing acting, he had a passion for soccer and played in Europe as part of Team USA, but an injury forced him to change career paths. He then attended College of the Desert and Orange Coast College before being encouraged by a drama professor to study theater at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City.Irby's acting career began in the late 1990s, and he quickly established himself with appearances in various television series and films. He gained significant recognition for his role as Sergeant First Class Charles Grey in the CBS series "The Unit" (2006–2009). His film credits include notable roles in "The Last Castle" (2001), "Flightplan" (2005), "Law Abiding Citizen" (2009), "Faster" (2010), and "Fast Five" (2011).In recent years, Irby has become widely known for his prominent roles in critically acclaimed television series.
