Osiris 2025
Osiris (2025), a sci‑fi action thriller directed by William Kaufman and scheduled for release on July 25, 2025 in select U.S. theaters and on video-on-demand platforms. During a covert mission, a squad of Special Forces is abruptly abducted via alien spacecraft. They awaken aboard an unknown ship, stranded in enemy territory and hunted by a brutal alien race. With survival on the line, they team up with Ravi (Hildebrand) and Anya (Hamilton) to fight their way back home.✅ Highlights & Critiques 👍 Positives Practical creature effects: Classic “man-in-a-suit” alien designs evoke old-school sci-fi and have been praised for tangible impact over CGI. Intense action: The opening set piece is a lengthy, adrenaline-pumping combat sequence drawing comparisons to John Wick-style gun choreography and films like 13 Hours or Aliens. Hamilton’s cameo: Though late, Linda Hamilton brings nostalgic gravitas, elevating the tone when she joins the cast.👎 Criticisms Formulaic and repetitive: Reviews highlight a derivative story and flat character archetypes, with the relentless pace becoming monotonous. Overlong runtime: Many critics feel the near-110-minute length drags, suggesting a tighter cut would have made the action more impactful. Limited character depth: The supporting cast remains largely defined by stereotypes, offering minimal emotional engagement.🎟 Availability Theatrical Release: Select cinemas starting July 25, 2025, U.S. only. Digital Streaming: Available to buy or rent on platforms like Apple TV, Amazon Prime Video, etc., from July 25–28, 2025 in the U.S.; consult local VOD providers in other regions.🧾 Final Verdict Osiris delivers gritty, nostalgia-infused sci-fi with a focus on practical effects and kinetic action over storytelling nuance. Fans of genre films like Aliens, Predator, or The Terminator will find familiar thrills—especially when Hamilton arrives on-screen. But for those seeking originality, emotional depth, or smarter pacing, it may feel like a visually energetic but hollow gauntlet. Critics give it mixed marks: entertaining in parts, tedious in others. It’s best enjoyed as a B‑movie sci-fi spectacle: fun, violent, and nostalgically grindhouse—with a memorable return from Linda Hamilton.

Beyond disappointed. I've never seen a movie with so much action that is so run of the mill that I was tired of seeing guns shot. No characters at all that you care about , you don't even remember one of their names. La Monica garret is so much better than this , this is Thomas from 1883, also in lioness ... 2 of the best Shows on television. Why he took this role is just as big of a mystery of why Linda Hamilton did this? She's got James Cameron money ? What do they have that they blackmailed her to be in this garbage? Clearly I love Aliens, and there is several scenes you can tell are a nod to aliens but just really poor execution. What made aliens - Aliens - was the actors , characters , creepy setting and the pulse rifles and advanced weaponry. This has the budget but just misses the mark On every single aspect that made Aliens One of the best sci fi action films of all time. Linda Hamilton is literally in 5 mins of the movie if that.
