Minami Takayama, born Izumi Arai on May 5, 1964, in Tokyo, is an exceptionally versatile Japanese voice actress, narrator, and singer affiliated with 81 Produce. She is celebrated for her distinctive vocal ability to convincingly portray a wide range of characters, particularly young boys, a niche where she has spent over two decades voicing central roles like Conan Edogawa in the long-running Detective Conan series and Rantarō Inadera in Nintama Rantarō. Her other iconic roles include Nabiki Tendo in Ranma ½, both Kiki and Ursula in Studio Ghibli's Kiki's Delivery Service, Hao Asakura in Shaman King, and Envy in Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. Beyond voice acting, Takayama is the main vocalist for the popular J-pop duo Two-Mix, which gained significant recognition for performing theme songs for anime like Mobile Suit Gundam Wing. On a personal note, she was briefly married to Detective Conan manga creator Gosho Aoyama from 2005 to 2007.
