Nicholas Ralph
Nicholas Ralph is a Scottish actor, born on April 13, 1990, in Cape Town, South Africa, and was raised in Nairn, a town in the Scottish Highlands. He is best known for his lead role as the veterinary surgeon James Herriot in the Channel 5 and PBS Masterpiece television series, All Creatures Great and Small, which is a remake of the long-running BBC series based on the books by Alf Wight. Ralph studied drama at Inverness College before graduating from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in 2017. Before his television breakout, his career consisted primarily of stage work with companies like the Citizens Theatre and the National Theatre of Scotland. His other screen credits include playing a young C.S. Lewis in the 2021 film The Most Reluctant Convert and a role in the 2022 film Prey for the Devil.
