Nick Rowland
Nick Rowland is a British film director and a graduate of the National Film and Television School (NFTS). He has a unique background, having initially pursued a promising career as a semi-professional rally driver before a change in direction led him to filmmaking in his early 20s.His work in short films earned him significant critical attention, with projects like Dancing In The Ashes, Out Of Sight, and Slap receiving nominations at prestigious festivals like Sundance and the BAFTAs. His short film Group B even earned him a Student Oscar nomination.Rowland's feature film directorial debut, Calm with Horses (2019), was a critical success. It premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and received multiple nominations, including at the British Independent Film Awards. The film, adapted from a short story, solidified his reputation for directing gritty, character-driven dramas. In addition to his film work, Rowland has directed episodes for television series, including Ripper Street and Hard Sun for the BBC. His upcoming projects include the 2025 film She Rides Shotgun.
