Oliver Kalkofe

Oliver Kalkofe is a prominent German comedian, satirist, and voice actor who has built a career spanning over three decades as one of Germany's most sharp-witted media critics. Born on September 12, 1965, in Hanover, he first rose to cult fame in the early 1990s as a member of the Frühstyxradio comedy ensemble. He achieved national stardom with his long-running television satire Kalkofes Mattscheibe, where he famously parodied the most absurd and cringeworthy moments of German television, earning him the prestigious Adolf Grimme Award. Beyond satire, Kalkofe is a major figure in the German film industry, having written and starred in the successful Edgar Wallace parodies Der WiXXer (2004) and Neues vom Wixxer (2007), which remain highlights of contemporary German comedy. In addition to his live-action work, Kalkofe is one of the most prolific dubbing and voice actors in Germany. He has lent his voice to iconic characters in German versions of major international hits, including Tom Servo in Mystery Science Theater 3000, the villainous Big Jack Horner in Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, and various characters in Planes and Cars. In the 2025 animated film Mission Santa: Yoyo to the Rescue, he plays a pivotal role as the voice of Yoyo's Grandpa, a traditionalist elf who holds the secret to finding the retired Santa Claus. Kalkofe also continues to influence pop culture through his long-running show SchleFaZ (The Worst Movies of All Time), where he and Peter Rütten provide humorous commentary on cinematic "disasters," a format that has gained a massive following and recently transitioned to the RTL+ network.
