Patrick Wilson is an American actor and director, celebrated for his versatile performances across film, television, and theater. Born on July 3, 1973, in Norfolk, Virginia, he is the son of voice actor John Wilson and singer Mary Wilson. Wilson's early exposure to the arts led him to pursue a career in acting, and he graduated from Carnegie Mellon University. He gained prominence with his Broadway debut in The Phantom of the Opera (2004), where he portrayed Raoul. His film career includes notable roles in Little Children (2006), Watchmen (2009), The Conjuring series (2013–2023), and Aquaman (2018) and its sequel (2023), where he played Orm/Ocean Master . In 2023, Wilson made his directorial debut with Insidious: The Red Door, the fifth installment in the Insidious horror franchise, in which he also reprised his role as Josh Lambert. Wilson is married to actress Dagmara Domińczyk, known for her role in HBO's Succession. The couple, who met in drama school, married in 2005 and have two children together .
