Rose Harlean
Rose Harlean is a French actress, writer, and director, born on July 4, 1992, in Montpellier, France. She is also an advocate for LGBT rights and trans representation in cinema. Harlean began her career in short films and as an extra in feature films in 2009. She later ventured into directing while studying film at the University of Montpellier, creating short films like "Wild Horses" (2013), "Eternal Return" (2017), and "Dead Palms" (2021), in which she also acted. As an actress, her credits include roles in "Paris, 13th District" (2021), "Waiting for Bojangles" (2021), and uncredited appearances in films like "Rifkin's Festival" (2020), "Emilia Pérez" (2024), and the upcoming "Alpha" (2025). Harlean is a trans woman and has actively spoken out for better consideration of trans actors in French cinema, welcoming Scarlett Johansson's decision not to play a trans man in "Rub & Tug" and writing an open letter in Têtu magazine in 2020 on the subject. She has expressed hope for future representations in the industry.
