Ryo Yoshizawa

Ryo Yoshizawa is a Japanese actor born on February 1, 1994, in Tokyo, Japan, and is represented by Amuse Inc. Known for his expressive eyes and natural acting style, he launched his career after winning the "Right-on" award at the Amuse National Audition in 2009. He made his debut in 2011 and gained early recognition for his role as Ryusei Sakuta/Kamen Rider Meteor in the tokusatsu series Kamen Rider Fourze. His breakthrough came with the live-action films of Gintama (2017, 2018), where he played Okita Sogo, and he achieved major success and critical acclaim for his dual role as King Eisei/Hyou in the historical film franchise Kingdom, winning the Japan Academy Prize for Outstanding Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role for the 2019 film. He has also starred as Sano Manjiro "Mikey" in the successful live-action Tokyo Revengers films. In television, he took on the lead role of Shibusawa Eiichi in the 2021 NHK Taiga drama Reach Beyond the Blue Sky. Yoshizawa is also an accomplished martial artist, skilled in second dan in kendo, which he has practiced for over nine years.
