Ryusei Yokohama is a prominent Japanese actor, model, and former singer, born on September 16, 1996, in Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture. Discovered by a talent scout in Harajuku, his career began as a model for the fashion magazine Nikopuchi before he moved into acting. He gained initial recognition for his role as Hikari Nonomura/ToQ 4gou in the 2014 Super Sentai series, Ressha Sentai ToQger. His breakout role, however, came in 2019 as the pink-haired Kyohei Yuri in the romantic comedy drama A Story to Read When You First Fall in Love, a performance that earned him multiple Best Supporting Actor awards. Since then, Yokohama has become one of Japan's most sought-after young stars, leading films like the critically acclaimed Your Eyes Tell (2020), Usogui: Lie Eater (2022), and Faceless (2024). His dramatic roles have brought him significant acclaim, including the Japan Academy Film Prize for Newcomer of the Year (2020) and the Best Actor award at the 48th Japan Academy Film Prize for Faceless (2025). He has a background in Kyokushin karate, winning the International Youth Karate Tournament in 2011, and is set to star as the lead in the 2025 NHK Taiga drama, UNBOUND.
