Sadie Sink (born April 16, 2002) is an accomplished American actress who began her career in theater before transitioning to film and television. Born in Brenham, Texas, she started acting in community theater at a young age and made her Broadway debut at age 11 in the revival of 'Annie'. She also played young Queen Elizabeth II in the Broadway production of 'The Audience'. Sink gained widespread recognition for her role as Max Mayfield in the popular Netflix series 'Stranger Things' (since 2017). Her film credits include 'Chuck', 'The Glass Castle', 'Eli', and the 'Fear Street' trilogy. In 2022, she received critical acclaim for her performance in 'The Whale'. In 2021, she starred in Taylor Swift's short film 'All Too Well: The Short Film'. In the upcoming 2025 post-apocalyptic musical 'O'Dessa', Sink takes on the lead role of O'Dessa Galloway and performs the song "Love Is All". In 2025, she also returned to Broadway in the play 'John Proctor Is the Villain', for which she received her first Tony Award nomination. Recently, she made her Met Gala debut.
