Sarah Michelle Gellar is an American actress, producer, and entrepreneur best known for her iconic role as Buffy Summers in the supernatural drama series Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997–2003), a performance that earned her a Golden Globe nomination and cemented her status as a cultural figure. Born on April 14, 1977, in New York City, Gellar began her career as a child model and actress, notably winning a Daytime Emmy Award for her work as Kendall Hart on the soap opera All My Children (1993–1995).
