Sean San Jose

Sean San José is a versatile writer, director, performer, and producer based in San Francisco, California. He co-founded Campo Santo, an award-winning performance group dedicated to creating new works and nurturing audiences centered around People of Color. With over 30 years of experience, San José has developed and directed original plays and performance pieces. He has also served as the Program Director of Performance at Intersection for the Arts, San Francisco's oldest alternative arts space, and is currently the Artistic Director of the Magic Theatre, where he is the first person of color to hold that position. San José has collaborated extensively with notable artists including Colman Domingo, with whom he has worked on film, television, and theatre projects such as the feature film Sing Sing and the TV series West Philly, Baby. His work spans multi-genre storytelling and includes commissions for major theaters and arts organizations. San José is recognized for his commitment to diverse storytelling and community-focused performance art.​
