Sebastian Jessen is a well-established Danish actor known for his extensive work in film and television since the late 1990s. Born on July 7, 1986, in Søborg, Denmark, Jessen is an autodidact actor who began his career in children's films, notably starring in Albert (1998) and the popular teen comedy series Kærlighed ved første hik (Love at First Hiccough, 1999) and its sequels. He successfully transitioned to more mature roles, including an early appearance in the acclaimed political drama series Borgen (2011). Jessen is recognized for his performances in both large-scale international projects and critically acclaimed Danish cinema. His notable film credits include the Oscar and Golden Globe-winning Danish romantic comedy Love Is All You Need (or Den skaldede frisør, 2012) directed by Susanne Bier, the World War One feature In Love and War (2018), and the drama While We Live (2017), for which he received a Danish Academy Award nomination for Best Actor. More recently, he has starred in the Netflix film Toscana (2022) and A Beautiful Life (2023). On television, he played the lead role of Jakob in the Danish thriller series Grow (2020) and the main character in the fantasy series Heartless (2014-2015). Sebastian Jessen is the older brother of actor Andreas Jessen, and he is also a prolific Danish voice actor, lending his voice to characters like Jessie in the Danish dub of Hannah Montana and Anakin Skywalker in Star Wars: The Clone Wars. He is slated to appear in the upcoming 2025 Netflix film, Mango.
