Mango 2025
Directed by Mehdi Avaz, Mango is a Danish romantic comedy-drama that centers on Lærke, an ambitious hotel manager sent to Málaga, Spain, to secure a deal for a new luxury resort. The site she needs is a mango orchard owned by Alex, a former lawyer who has retreated to a quiet life of farming after a personal tragedy. Lærke brings her estranged teenage daughter, Agnes, along for the trip under the guise of a vacation. As Lærke clashes with the stubborn Alex over the land, the sunny Andalusian setting and their shared personal struggles eventually lead to an unexpected romance. The film stars Josephine Park (Baby Fever) as the career-driven Lærke and Dar Salim (The Covenant, Game of Thrones) as the soulful orchard owner Alex, with Josephine Højbjerg playing the daughter, Agnes. The film has received mixed reviews since its release. Critics have generally praised the film's "sun-drenched" cinematography and the warm, comforting tone that makes it an easy watch for fans of the genre. However, the script has been criticized for being "painfully derivative" and following a predictable "Hallmark-style" formula with low stakes and convenient resolutions. While the chemistry between the leads has been described by some as "sweet," others found the enemies-to-lovers arc to be rushed and lacking in genuine spark compared to stronger entries in the genre. Mango is a Netflix Original film and premiered exclusively on the platform globally on November 7, 2025, and is currently available to stream in all regions with Netflix service.
