Shivani Rawat

Shivani Rawat is a New York-based film producer and the founder of ShivHans Pictures, an independent production and finance company dedicated to supporting the visions of independent filmmakers and producing dynamic, groundbreaking feature films outside the traditional Hollywood studio model. She is known for producing a diverse range of critically acclaimed films, including Trumbo (2015), Captain Fantastic (2016), The Trial of the Chicago 7 (2020), Wander Darkly (2020), and Love Me (2024). Rawat's work often focuses on stories with strong human connections and meaningful narratives.A graduate of the New York Film Academy's 1-Year Screenwriting program, Rawat began her career as an executive producer with the TV special Today’s Special: New York Indian (2012). She later produced her first feature film, Danny Collins (2015), and has since worked on numerous projects that have garnered critical acclaim and industry recognition . In 2019, ShivHans Pictures expanded into distribution, including a co-distribution deal with Bleecker Street for U.S. rights to Hotel Mumbai, followed by Brian Banks, which ShivHans also produced.Beyond her production work, Rawat is actively involved in industry organizations. She serves as a board member of the Annenberg Inclusion Initiative and is a member of the Producers Guild of America, Women in Film, and Film Independent. She is also a supporter of various industry-related organizations, including Time’s Up, the California Innocence Project, the Horizon Award, and the Motion Picture & Television Fund .Rawat's commitment to producing meaningful and impactful films, along with her active involvement in supporting inclusive and diverse voices in the film industry, has established her as a significant figure in independent filmmaking.
