Born to Colombian parents, she is fluent in both English and Spanish and chose her stage name "Carson" after her maternal grandmother. She began her career in the Disney Channel universe, first as a guest star on Austin & Ally and later gaining widespread recognition for her role as Evie, the daughter of the Evil Queen, in the highly popular Descendants film franchise.Carson has since built a successful career in both acting and music. She has starred in various films, including the Netflix romantic drama Purple Hearts (2022), which she also executive-produced and contributed to the soundtrack. The film was a global success for the streaming platform. Her filmography also includes roles in Feel the Beat, Songbird, and the 2024 thriller Carry-On. She also has a burgeoning music career, having released a self-titled debut album and earned a nomination for an Academy Award for singing "Applause" from the film Tell It Like a Woman.
