Steven James "Steve" Mirkovich, born on February 4, 1953, in Oceanside, California, is a prominent American film and television editor and a member of both the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and the American Cinema Editors (ACE). He grew up in Studio City, California, in a large family with eleven siblings, one of whom is also an editor, Lynne Willingham. Mirkovich began his career in the film industry in 1972 in the mailroom at Warner Bros. before moving to a job as a film courier in the editor Rudi Fehr's department. He joined the union in 1974. His filmography spans over 50 credits, with some of his most notable works including the editor role on major films like the action movie Con Air (1997), the slasher film I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997)—which is considered his big break—and The Expendables 2 (2012). He also served as an editor on The Ghost and the Darkness (1996) and Retribution (2023), and was a co-editor on The Passion of the Christ (2004). Mirkovich is married to Bronwyne Smith.
