Edward Frank "Teddy" Schwarzman (born May 29, 1979) is an American film producer and former corporate lawyer, best known as the founder, president, and CEO of his production company, Black Bear Pictures, which he established in 2011. A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania (B.A. in English) and Duke University School of Law (J.D. cum laude), Schwarzman initially worked as a corporate lawyer at Skadden, specializing in real estate and corporate restructuring. He transitioned into the film industry, gaining experience as a personal assistant on a film set and later working at the film advisory company Cinetic Media before launching Black Bear Pictures. His company focuses on producing and financing original, premium content for film and television. Schwarzman achieved significant recognition for producing the 2014 film The Imitation Game, which earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Picture. His other notable production credits include All Is Lost (2013), Gold (2016), I Care a Lot (2020), Dumb Money (2023), and Nyad (2023). Schwarzman is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and the Producers Guild of America, and he resides in Los Angeles with his wife, Ellen Marie Zajac, and their three children.
