Thaneth Warakulnukroh is a highly respected Thai "Renaissance man"—a veteran singer, songwriter, actor, and record producer who has left a significant mark on both the Thai music and film industries. Born on September 9, 1958, in Samut Songkhram, he first rose to prominence in the mid-1980s as a pioneer of progressive rock and electronic music in Thailand with his debut album Dan Civilise (1985). Throughout the 1990s, he achieved mainstream success with hits like "Press the Button" before shifting his focus to the business side of music. He founded Music Bugs, an influential independent record label that launched the careers of legendary Thai rock bands such as Bodyslam and Big Ass, earning him a reputation as one of the most important mentors in the Thai music scene. After a nearly 30-year hiatus from acting, Warakulnukroh made a stunning cinematic comeback in 2017 with a lead role in the critically acclaimed Singaporean-Thai film Pop Aye and a powerful supporting performance as the father in the global hit Bad Genius. His portrayal in Bad Genius earned him the Suphannahong National Film Association Award for Best Supporting Actor, cementing his status as a formidable dramatic talent. In recent years, he has continued to work on prestige projects, including the Netflix limited series Thai Cave Rescue (2022). In 2026, he makes his Hollywood debut in Sam Raimi’s survival thriller Send Help, joining an international cast that includes Rachel McAdams and Dylan O’Brien.
