Thomas Jane
Thomas Jane (born Thomas Elliott III on February 22, 1969) is an American actor, producer, and director known for his versatility in action, drama, and comedy roles across film and television. After dropping out of high school at 17, Jane began his career in the late 1980s, even starring in the Telugu-language film Padamati Sandhya Ragam (1987). His profile rose significantly with memorable supporting parts in high-profile films like Face/Off and Boogie Nights (both 1997), followed by a lead role in the sci-fi horror film Deep Blue Sea (1999). He received critical acclaim for his portrayal of baseball legend Mickey Mantle in the HBO movie 61* (2001) and gained a major fan following for playing the title anti-hero in the comic book adaptation The Punisher (2004) and his leading role in the Stephen King horror adaptation The Mist (2007). Jane earned three Golden Globe nominations for his starring role as Ray Drecker, a man who turns to sex work, in the HBO dark comedy series Hung (2009–2011). More recently, he has appeared in the science fiction series The Expanse and the Western horror film 1922. Beyond acting, Jane is also a comic book writer, having co-created the series Bad Planet, and a director, with credits including the film Dark Country (2009).
