Troy Gentile, born Troy Francis Farshi on October 27, 1993, in Boca Raton, Florida, USA, is an American actor known for his comedic roles. He began his acting career at a young age, notably playing a supporting role in the 2005 remake of Bad News Bears. Gentile gained further recognition for portraying younger versions of Jack Black's characters in the films Nacho Libre (2006) and Tenacious D in the Pick of Destiny (2006). His filmography includes roles in Good Luck Chuck (2007), Drillbit Taylor (2008), and Hotel for Dogs (2009). From 2013 to 2023, Gentile starred as Barry Goldberg in the ABC comedy series The Goldbergs, a role he also reprised in two episodes of the spin-off series Schooled (2019-2020). In 2025, he appeared in the movie A Breed Apart. Gentile has also made guest appearances in television shows such as The Suite Life of Zack & Cody, Entourage, Hawthorne, American Dad! (voice role), and The Middle. He attended community college before being cast in The Goldbergs and stands at a height of 5' 10" (1.78 m).
