Vahid Mobasseri

Vahid Mobasseri is an Iranian actor and filmmaker, born in Shiraz in 1987. He holds a Master's degree in Dramatic Literature from the University of Shiraz and is also a published poet, with two collections of poetry to his name. His career began in 2008 as a playwright and assistant director for Iran Radio & TV, where he contributed to over 15 television productions.As a director, Mobasseri has helmed several short films, including "I was waiting for you" (2012), "Timology" (2015), "The Aperture" (2016), "Mismatch" (2020), and "The Truth Is Not Unreal" (2022). He has also worked as a writer and cinematographer on some of his projects.However, Mobasseri is perhaps best known for his acting roles, particularly in recent acclaimed Iranian films. He appeared in "No Bears" (2022) and "No End" (2022). His most prominent role to date is in Jafar Panahi's Palme d'Or-winning film, "It Was Just an Accident" (2025), where he plays the central character, Vahid, a garage mechanic who believes he has found his former torturer. His performance in this complex and intense role has brought him significant international attention.
