Sherwin David "Wood" Harris is an American actor best known for his powerful and versatile performances in film and television. His acting career began with roles in films like Above the Rim (1994), where he played the volatile Motaw, and the sports drama Remember the Titans (2000), where he earned an NAACP Image Award nomination for his role as Julius Campbell.Harris's most iconic role came with the HBO crime drama The Wire (2002-2008), where he portrayed the ruthless drug kingpin Avon Barksdale. This performance solidified his reputation as a formidable actor and is widely regarded as his signature role. Following The Wire, he continued to build an impressive and diverse filmography, appearing in movies such as Paid in Full (2002), Dredd (2012), and Blade Runner 2049 (2017).
