Xing Yu

Xing Yu (释行宇), also known as Shi Xingyu or Shi Yanneng, is a Chinese martial artist and actor, born on December 27, 1978, in Shandong, China. He is a genuine martial artist who spent ten years at the Shaolin Temple on Mount Song, beginning his training under Master De Yang at the age of 12 and becoming a 32nd generation Shaolin monk. His authenticity in martial arts has made him a sought-after actor for action roles, though he has often played supporting or minor parts. His acting career gained prominence when he was cast in Stephen Chow's 2004 film Kung Fu Hustle, where he played the role of Coolie. He has since appeared in multiple high-profile martial arts and action movies, frequently working with directors like Wilson Yip and actors like Donnie Yen, in films such as Fatal Contact (2006), Flash Point (2007), Ip Man (2008) (where he played Master Zealot Lin), Shaolin (2011), Kung Fu Killer (2014), and Master Z: Ip Man Legacy (2018).
