    Jim Carrey The mask

What can I say about this movie I get nostalgic watching it? I enjoy laughter are you still on this movie in VHS. That’s why I decide to rebuy it in DVD.Make the move before they get rid of physical media.Don’t be a renter been actual owner it’s way better on watching apps they can decide to take it off anytime they want without your consent or concern that you probably would have wanted to watch it. That’s why I’m an owner I don’t have to rely on internet or when they want me to watch it. I can watch it anytime I want! Birthdays Christmas New Year’s or even Jim Carrey’s birthday I could decide to watch it and really feel nostalgic

    The Mask still delivers

The Mask was one of those childhood defining movies for me. At the age I was, I became enthralled with cartoons and the animation process. The idea of a live action cartoon was just enough of a high concept idea to get my little 10 year old mind excited!! For years I had wondered if cartoon characters really existed in our 3D world what would they look like? How would they be lighted? Would the squashing and stretching work and look right? Luckily the mask answered that question for me! The then almost unheard use of CGI in film making was used to almost astonishing affect in this movie. I still think for some reason that these effects are some of the best seen in CGI enhanced movies. Even for the “cartoony” effect that the film makers were going for, to see that they pulled the squashing and stretching effect early on is quite impressive. The film itself is actually very good. It ignited the careers of both Jim Carrey and the very stunning 19 year old Cameron Diaz. The actors bring “A” game to this film and that’s really impressive considering it to be very early efforts on their parts. These are the parts I admire each actor for the most. The internal drama that Stanley Ipkuss experiences is fairly engaging because many people relate to feelings of inadequacy and introversion and sometimes the wish of somehow “busting out” and “letting loose” takes on surprising constructs. This movie offers one fantastic and fanciful version of that wish which we see manifested in the cursed mask of Loki giving its wearer the ability to physically transform into their subconscious character. Its one of the zaniest uses of psychological experimentation you’ll find on film. Most of all it’s a fun as all heck movie that’s hilarious and quotable from beginning to end. It belongs in anyone’s library.

    It’s Party Time!

For fun and visual humor, this film just can’t be beat.Jim Carry is superbly cast as Stanley Ipkiss — “Mr. Nice Guy” and one of life’s loosers. That is, until he happens upon an old carved Norse mask (supposedly having belonged to the god of mischief, Loki). Once having donned the mask, Stanley is transformed from a meek introvert into a hip “man about the town” who turns every situation to his advantage — and this occurs in the most comical fashion imaginable.Heavily based on cartoon-like animation (which the character, Stanley, has a passion for), the mask performs astonishing feats that will have you grinning from ear to ear. It’s a cartoon show come to real life. The special effects in the movie are very well done. The Mask’s first experience on the town (as he leaves the rooming house) with an animated clock and his unsuspecting land-lady, Mrs Peenman; his encounter with a rude motorist (“I think he wants to communicate”); and the scene with a couple of overcharging mechanics (“Hold onto your lugnuts, it’s time for an overhaul!”) are very well done — and only the prelude to even better sequences later. One of the most priceless parts is where the Mask is cornered by every police officer (including SWAT) in the neighborhood, then turns the situation into a song and dance fest with a Cuban flavor. It’s hilarious. (great music too!)Jim Carry is a natural straight comic – rivaling Robin Williams. His talents come across full-force in this film. And don’t forget, sexy star Cameron Diaz also plays a prominate part opposite Mr. Carry. This one’s a treat for everyone. If you haven’t seen it yet, rent a copy today. Only the most dour will fail to find something to like about the film.As the tagline says, it’s fantastic fun.~P~
