Wait until it’s cheaper to stream
I watched the whole thing so I’ll give 2 stars… It does that annoying trope where characters narrate what’s happening out loud in a really unnatureal way. like the director couldn’t think of a way to SHOW what a character is thinking by their actions. Never read the book, but it seems like they took the inner character monolog or observations and had the characters straight up say it instead. Is she talking to the bird? No one talks to a bird like that. There is a lot that doesn’t make sense about the setting and characters and the main character never asks any serious questions or take action, except for once. Then she just rolls over when she gets pushback. Is she a risk taker or not? Does she believe and trust what the other characters tell her or not? Is she angry or completely apathetic? She doesn’t behave consistantly either way. And then in the end, they just get the solution handed to them. They tried nothing and were apparently all out of ideas. The twist is annoying, because despite it being kind of obvious for this type of movie there’s no actual build up. You couldn’t have logically figured it out based on info given throughout the story until basically right before the reveal. I don’t have sympathy for clearly evil creatures so I wasn’t impressed with the “message” or whatever. Idk man, it kind of sucked.

Thriller with slight horror themes
This movie was great, I love the actors starred in this. The story and twists are interesting and it makes you think! If you love thrillers and slight horror then this movie would pique your interest. Lore-wise, anything about the fallen angels always intrigue me!

Atmospheric and Creepy, but a Bit Slow
I recently watched The Watchers and overall, it was an interesting experience. The movie’s setting—a remote forest in Ireland—is hauntingly beautiful and really adds to the eerie vibe. The tension builds nicely as the group tries to survive while being stalked by mysterious creatures, which kept me curious throughout.Dakota Fanning and the cast did a solid job bringing their characters to life, and the film’s suspenseful moments hit their mark. That said, I felt the story dragged in places, and the plot didn’t feel as developed as it could have been. The creatures were scary enough, but the film didn’t fully explore the mystery behind them, which left me wanting more.If you’re into slow-burn horror with a focus on mood and atmosphere rather than constant scares, this one might be worth your time.
