Fantastic South Korean Horror Fantasy
Arrived on time and in great condition. The movie is not dubbed so you will have to read subtitles if this is not thing the movie is easy to follow with a lot of action

Gorefest with a solid story
I tripped across this in searching for other films. I am exceptionally pleased that I did. The only references I have that would apply are Blood+, Lucy, and Elfen Lied. I absolutely loved the twists in the storyline and the action sequences throughout. The blood and gore are well treated and not so much that it takes away from the seriousness of the scenes. Simply put, I love this film and it it going on my list of favorite action films.

Let sleeping super humans sleep
Basically a superhero movie without costumes. Echoes of Superman’s origin, as a rural family takes in a child (here, a girl) who appears out of nowhere. Eventually a bunch of villains find out where she is and come after her. (Why it took them so long to find her is a major story weakness.) Some of the villains are really vile, and you want them to get what’s coming to them. But by the time they do, you may actually feel a bit sorry for them, because the last thirty minutes or so of the movie change a lot of the things that had earlier been “established.” By the time the girl cuts loose, she’s downright scary. There is a lot of violence, blood, and gore in the movie, so be aware. But if you’re okay with that, it’s quite a ride.

Think /Firestarter/ Done Correctly!
This is a Korean film, and the Korean word being translated as “witch” appears to have different connotations than the English word. There are no pacts with the devil or flying on broomsticks or muttering of spells here!No, here we have the story of an 8-year-old girl who escapes confinement and gets herself adopted by an older couple. Then, 10 years later, when an excessively bouncy friend convinces her to take part in a talent contest, elevates a microphone on national TV.This, of course, re-activates the recovery operation by the bad guys. Two different teams, working against each other and her. By the end of the film, she has shown that she truly is on a level above everyone else — normal humans, first-gen mutants, even the other 2nd-gen mutants.Lots of action, in several different places with various opponents.

Perfect cast, excellent movie
The Witch: Subversion [Blu-ray]PROS: Perfect cast. All actors’ performances are excellent. Great story, directing, editing. The lead actress Kim Da-Mi is extraordinary in all phases of her character Ja-yoon!! Great twist in the story midway through. Great action scenes, especially the fight scenes at the end. Her best friend Go Min-Si is also excellent as Myung-Hee.CONS: The English subtitles for this blu-ray are not the same as the original English subtitles. Ja-yoon’s best friend, Myung-Hee would call Ja-yoon a “shrew” in the original subtitles, where as on the blu-ray the word “shrew” is replaced with the word, “bitch”. Perhaps they were trying to Americanize the subtitles more… but to me it took away a subtle unique word and endearing way Myung bonded with Ja-yoon. Using the word “bitch” sounded like everyday empty social media banter. They also had the two swearing where they didn’t before making their lines no different than the bad people and removing the innocence of their youth. Having said that, if I had not had this comparison, I would probably have given the movie 5 stars… it’s still that good. Also, disappointed that there are no special features at all on the blu-ray… only the movie.
