Counterattack 2025
'Counterattack' (released on Netflix, February 28, 2025) is a gripping Mexican action thriller directed by Chava Cartas. The film plunges viewers into the dangerous world of cartel warfare when Captain Guerrero (Luis Alberti), a Mexican Army officer, and his elite special forces team, the Murciélagos, rescue two hostages who have uncovered a mass grave of cartel victims. This heroic act inadvertently makes Guerrero and his squad the prime targets of the ruthless cartel leader, El Aguijón (Noé Hernández), who vows to silence them permanently. As Guerrero and his team head towards a brief respite in the US, they are ambushed. However, their would-be attackers soon realize that these "five friends shopping at the US/Mexico border" are anything but ordinary civilians. The skilled Murciélagos turn the tables, leading to a relentless and action-packed fight for survival as they are pursued across the border by El Aguijón's forces.
