Callan Mulvey

Callan Mulvey, born on February 23, 1975, in Auckland, New Zealand, is an accomplished Australian actor who has made a significant mark in both Australian and international productions. Of Scottish, Irish, and Māori descent, his family moved to Australia when he was eight, and he grew up in the northern beaches of Sydney. Interestingly, his early interest in skateboarding and rollerblading led him to work as a stunt double before his acting career fully took off. Mulvey gained widespread recognition in Australia for his role as Bogdan Drazic in the popular television series Heartbreak High (1997-1999), which marked the beginning of his successful acting journey. He further solidified his standing with compelling performances as Mark Moran in the crime drama Underbelly (2008) and Sergeant Brendan 'Josh' Joshua in the police series Rush (2008-2011).His talent extended to the international stage with his American film debut in Kathryn Bigelow's Zero Dark Thirty (2012). Since then, Mulvey has appeared in a string of notable Hollywood films, including 300: Rise of an Empire (2014), Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014) as Jack Rollins, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) as Anatoli Knyazev, and Avengers: Endgame (2019), reprising his role as Rollins. He has also taken on diverse roles in films like Warcraft (2016), Bleeding Steel (2017) alongside Jackie Chan, and Outlaw King (2018). In television, beyond his early success, he has featured in series such as Power, Mystery Road, and more recently, Last King of the Cross. In Valiant One (2025), he plays the character Chris Lebold, adding another action thriller to his extensive filmography. Despite a serious car accident in 2003 that resulted in significant injuries, including the loss of vision in his left eye, Mulvey has continued to deliver powerful performances, establishing himself as a versatile and respected actor in the industry.
