Valiant One 2025
Valiant One, an American action thriller released on January 31, 2025, plunges viewers into a high-stakes survival scenario against the backdrop of tense relations between North and South Korea. Directed by Steve Barnett, who also co-wrote the screenplay, the film follows a U.S. Army helicopter crew on a seemingly routine mission near the Demilitarized Zone to repair a radar unit. Fate takes a dangerous turn when unexpected storm-induced wind shears cause their helicopter to crash deep within hostile North Korean territory, severing their communication lines. Sergeant Edward Brockman, portrayed by Chase Stokes, unexpectedly finds himself thrust into leadership after his superiors perish in the crash. Along with a medic named Selby, played by Lana Condor, and other surviving soldiers, their mission abruptly shifts from repair to a desperate fight for survival and escape. They must navigate the perilous North Korean landscape, all while safeguarding a civilian tech specialist. Facing relentless threats from North Korean forces, their arduous journey across the treacherous Demilitarized Zone becomes a grueling test of their courage, teamwork, and Brockman's reluctant leadership. The 86-minute film, distributed by Briarcliff Entertainment, explores compelling themes of survival against overwhelming odds, the emergence of leadership in crisis, and the indomitable spirit of individuals pushed to their limits. While featuring a cast of twelve, including Desmin Borges, Callan Mulvey, and Daniel Jun, some reviews noted that despite its intriguing premise and competent performances, the film's execution occasionally lacked depth. Valiant One ultimately garnered a modest box office return of $1.2 million.

The story is fairly good. This movie is full of very young Netflix actors and and miscast in several roles. This isn't the Outer Banks lol. The directing is fair to good and some of the action is good in parts but as a whole is not even close to believable. I think with the right actors this movie could have been better. The main flaw is the lead actor and he thinks he's in Outer Banks, which he was good in just not good in this movie. He's the wrong look for a military man. I like the North Korean idea on tension. Honestly at times the actions of the soldiers makes our military look bad even though I do not think they wanted that. The military advisors failed in this movie!
