Sophie Thatcher is an American actress, born on October 18, 2000, in Chicago, Illinois. She grew up in a family of four sisters and developed an early interest in acting, initially focusing on musical theater. Thatcher attended the Theatre School at DePaul University for a time before making the transition to on-screen roles. She began her career with appearances in local theater productions in Chicago and made her screen debut in the 2016 television series Chicago P.D. Her breakthrough came when she was cast in the 2018 science fiction thriller film Prospect, where she starred alongside Pedro Pascal and was praised for her performance. She continued to build her presence in the sci-fi genre, taking on the role of Cammie in the 2020 action-adventure film The Tomorrow War and as a young version of the character Drash in the Star Wars series The Book of Boba Fett (2021). However, she is most widely recognized for her starring role as the teenage Natalie "Nat" Scatorccio in the critically acclaimed Showtime mystery drama series Yellowjackets, which premiered in 2021. For her work on Yellowjackets, she received significant praise and a Critics' Choice Television Award nomination as part of the ensemble cast. In 2023, she took on the lead role of Sadie Harper in the horror film The Boogeyman, based on the Stephen King short story.
