The getaway devolves into chaos when it is shockingly revealed that Iris is not human but a highly advanced companion robot, a sophisticated AI creation rented from a robotics company. Josh is her "owner," who can control her emotions, intelligence, and memories via a proprietary app. The film's plot thickens as Iris discovers the horrifying truth about her existence and her relationship with Josh, especially after an act of violence, revealing a darker conspiracy involving Josh and his friends.
