My Spy The Eternal City 2024
My Spy: The Eternal City is a 2024 American action-comedy film and the sequel to the 2020 movie My Spy. The plot unfolds when a high school choir tour in Italy is disrupted by a nuclear threat targeting the Vatican. The film also features Kristen Schaal, Ken Jeong, Anna Faris, Flula Borg, and Craig Robinson.🕵️♂️ Plot Summary In the sequel, J.J. and Sophie are living in Langley, Virginia, with J.J. balancing his CIA duties and his role as Sophie's guardian. When a mission goes awry, Sophie accompanies J.J. on a school choir trip to Italy, which coincides with a plot involving Soviet-era weapons of mass destruction. The story escalates as they uncover a conspiracy targeting the Vatican, leading to a high-stakes mission to prevent a disaster.📅 Release Information My Spy: The Eternal City was released on July 18, 2024, and is available for streaming exclusively on Amazon Prime Video.📊 Reception The film has received mixed to unfavorable reviews: Rotten Tomatoes: 23% critic score; 35% audience score. Metacritic: 36/100 based on 12 critic reviews; 5.4/10 user score.Critics have noted that while the film has moments of charm, it often resorts to juvenile humor and lacks the freshness of its predecessor. Some reviews describe it as a "forgettable spy thriller" and a "superfluous and unnecessary IP extender."🎯 Conclusion My Spy: The Eternal City offers a familiar blend of action and comedy with returning characters J.J. and Sophie navigating a new adventure set against the backdrop of Italy. While it delivers lighthearted moments and family-friendly fun, the film falls short of the originality and charm that made the original stand out. Fans of the first movie may find it enjoyable, but those looking for a fresh or critically praised spy thriller might be left wanting more.

The first movie was so fresh and funny!! The second however was not. It's kinda sad to see how horrible Sophie and JJ get along this time, like what the frick happened to thier relationship why is she such a horrible person in this one. The jokes are not as funny and the action isn't as cool. For me is was just very very hard to watch all of the fighting knowing how much love wes in the last one. Also the plot holes are so bad💀💀💀💀💀💀. Also omg it's kinda copying the movie spiderman far from home...school field trip goes wrong in Italy and then fighting/action movie stuff. The one bright spot is flula borg (I love that man-he is hilarious.)
