The Damned , directed by Thordur Palsson and starring Odessa Young, Joe Cole, and Rory McCann, is a psychological horror film set in a remote 19th-century Icelandic fishing outpost. The narrative follows Eva (Odessa Young), a young widow who has taken charge of her late husband's fishing crew during a harsh winter. Facing dwindling supplies, the crew witnesses a shipwreck near their coast. Eva makes the agonizing decision to leave the survivors to their fate, a choice that soon leads to a terrifying descent into paranoia and supernatural occurrences. As bodies from the wreck wash ashore and strange events unfold, including talk of the "draugr" (revenant creatures from Nordic folklore), the isolated group becomes gripped by fear, questioning whether they are being punished for their actions or if the extreme conditions are causing them to unravel.
