Trap 2024

Trap is a 2024 American psychological thriller film written and directed by M. Night Shyamalan and distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures. The story centers on Cooper (played by Josh Hartnett), a seemingly mild-mannered father and firefighter who takes his teenage daughter, Riley (Ariel Donoghue), to a concert for her favorite pop star, Lady Raven (Saleka Shyamalan, the director's daughter, in her feature acting debut). However, early in the film, it's revealed to the audience that Cooper is secretly the notorious serial killer known as "The Butcher," and the concert venue has been turned into an elaborate "trap" by the police and FBI, led by profiler Dr. Josephine Grant (Hayley Mills), to finally capture him. The thriller then becomes a tense cat-and-mouse game as Cooper must use his cunning and obsessive-compulsive need for order to evade the growing police presence and escape the arena without his innocent daughter discovering his dark secret.
