The Diary is a 2024 Mexican psychological thriller film directed by Emma Bertrán and Alba Gil. The movie, also known by its Spanish title El Diario, was released on October 4, 2024, on Amazon Prime Video. The story centers on Olga (played by Irene Azuela), a recently divorced mother who moves into a new house with her daughter, Vera (Isabella Arroyo), to help her recover from a past trauma. The plot takes a sinister turn when Olga discovers a mysterious chest in the attic containing an unfinished diary. As she reads it, she becomes obsessed with its dark contents, which reveal the chilling confessions of a serial killer. Disturbing events and paranormal occurrences begin to haunt the house, and Olga starts to fear that there's a connection between the diary and her daughter's unsettling behavior. With her life and those around her in danger, Olga enlists the help of Vera's therapist, Dr. Carlos (Mauricio Ochmann), to unravel the mystery and figure out the identity of the killer before it's too late.
