Dune: Part Two 2024

The 2024 film Dune: Part Two is an American epic space opera and the direct sequel to Denis Villeneuve's 2021 film Dune. It is the second of a planned two-part adaptation of Frank Herbert's 1965 novel, also serving as the second installment in Villeneuve's burgeoning Dune film trilogy. Directed by Denis Villeneuve, who co-wrote the screenplay with Jon Spaihts, the movie continues the mythic journey of Paul Atreides, played by Timothée Chalamet, as he unites with Chani (Zendaya) and the native Fremen people on the desert planet Arrakis. The plot centers on Paul seeking revenge against the conspirators, primarily House Harkonnen, who destroyed his family, and facing a choice between the love of his life and preventing a terrible, holy war future that only he can foresee. The film picks up immediately after the first part, with Paul and his mother, Lady Jessica (Rebecca Ferguson), finding refuge with the Fremen tribe led by Stilgar (Javier Bardem). Paul immerses himself in Fremen culture, learning their ways, riding a sandworm, and earning the name "Muad'Dib," all while launching guerilla attacks against the Harkonnen spice operations. The all-star returning cast includes Stellan Skarsgård as Baron Harkonnen, Dave Bautista as Glossu Rabban, and Josh Brolin as Gurney Halleck. New additions feature Austin Butler as the brutal Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen, Florence Pugh as Princess Irulan, and Christopher Walken as Emperor Shaddam IV. The film was released in the United States on March 1, 2024, after being delayed from its original November 2023 date due to the Hollywood labor disputes.
